Southern Wags N Whiskers Connection to Pancreatic Cancer
Cancer not only affects the person it has targeted, but also the people around them. You never really know the depth of these diseases until it actually hits home. March 2, 2014, we lost my grandmother, Janell Lankford, to Pancreatic Cancer. On September 2, 2018, my father, Darin Thrasher, lost his battle to the same disease.
Pet Sitting for a Cause
I want to do my part in finding a cure for this awful disease, and that is why a portion of all proceeds from Southern Wags N Whiskers will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in hopes of finding a cure.
What is Pancreatic Cancer?
A disease that spreads rapidly from the pancreas (organ in abdomen area) to nearby organs and blood vessels.
Since signs and symptoms often don't occur until the disease is advanced, most people immediately seek treatment.
Quick Prevention Tips
A combination of smoking, long-standing diabetes and a poor diet increases the chances of developing this disease.
